An FCC filing submitted by Nintendo and Mitsumi seem to show a picture of what could be the upcoming Nintendo 3DS. While the device pictured is most likely a test bed for the 3DS, not the final product, its two displays are very obvious. From the picture it does seem like the top screen is a widescreen display, giving hopes that the 3DS will offer widescreen gaming. This test board, labeled for the “DS CTR” has most of its components hidden, and Nintendo has requested that the inner details not be made public for 180 days dating from April 2010, which would mean the details should be available just before the Christmas shopping season. Test boards are commonly used by companies to make sure their basic ideas work the way they should, and help to identify problems on a more accessible platform before everything is shrunk for the final product. Are you looking forward to the upcoming Nintendo 3DS?

It might seem familiar, as the gold pattern accents first made their appearance on the Christmas Edition of this handset, but this one sports a 5-megapixel camera with Schneider Kreuznach lens instead of the 8-megapixel shooter that is available in the Christmas Edition. No idea on pricing, but it should come with an inflated price point over the vanilla BL40 model.

If you think your timepiece doesn’t make you look manly enough, the Hublot bullet pocket watch might be just what you’ve been looking for. While we’re not trying to indirectly encourage you to go on a rampage in your neighborhood, it might make you look more appealing than the current Hello Kitty watch you’re wearing. It’s christened “Liberty”, and houses a Tourbillon, making it look very cool. The build sports a titanium bullet head, as well as a black aluminum base. This timepiece can be worn on a bracelet, or as a pendant. Would this make it into your Christmas wishlist, or are you looking for something more traditional?

Mankind has been fascinated by the concept of an invisibility cloak long before Harry Potter came along, but regardless of where our love for invisibility cloaks came from, we’re still waiting to get our hands on one. Now some smart scientists are busy working to come up with another variant of the invisibility cloak, and the good news it, it can hide things in 3D. Previously invisibility cloaks only hid things when viewed directly, but the moment you moved to the side, it was very obvious that something was amiss. With the “Carpet Cloak”, the trick is to change the speed and direction in which light travels through the material, meaning changing the material’s refractive index. This is achieved by using a polymer crystal made up of tiny rods, which can change the ratio of air to polymer by changing the thickness of the rods. Sure, it sounds like a lot of hokey, but we’re happy to use whatever method they want, as long as we get our invisibility cloak gift-wrapped nicely under our Christmas tree this December.

The winner of the 2010 CES Innovations and Design award, the iLuv iMM190 App Station, is now available for $89.99. If you’re wondering what this is, it’s an iPhone and iPod speaker dock that allows you to dock an iPhone or iPod touch in a vertical or horizontal position for watching movies, listening to music, as well as charging your iPhone at the same time. The thing that sets it apart from other speakers is that iLuv App Clock which can be downloaded from the App Store, transforming your device into an alarm clock with a large digital display which also shows the current weather conditions in your area. In case you want to hook up something else other than your iPod/iPhone to the iMM190 App Station, you can also do so via the auxiliary input line. It certainly seems like it would make a nice Valentines or Christmas gift, wouldn’t it?

There’s also a 1.9-inch display to help keep you in touch with the pedal, but more importantly, both units sport integrated USB ports, allowing you to record directly to your computer via these pedals. Too bad there isn’t any official pricing or release information just yet. Is this going to be the latest thing on your Christmas wish list?
